A Northampton College apprentice has re-sprayed a winning soapbox car built by Mercedes GP engineers for an annual race held in Brackley.
Ryan Devonport is employed by Mercedes GP in the Formula 1 team and is an apprentice on the Refinishing/Body Repair Level 3 Apprenticeship programme, run by Northampton College in conjunction with Semta Apprenticeship Service. Impressed with his skills and flair, Ryan was asked by Mercedes GP to re-spray the soapbox car which was used in the recent Brackley Soapbox Derby competition earlier this month.
