Companies across Northamptonshire are being asked to get involved in a new project to give students real life experience in the world of work. Northampton College has launched the '100 companies in 100 days' campaign ' aimed at getting 100 local businesses to sign up to offering work experience to its students.
The placements can be in the form of a set number of days per week or in weekly blocks. James Whybrow, assistant principal at Northampton College said: "Work placements are becoming increasingly important for our students. Employers want to see real life experience away from the classroom and we want to work with local companies to give our students the opportunity to put the skills they have already learnt into practice in a 'real world' scenario. In return, the companies will be able to have an extra pair of hands to help them carry out their everyday tasks and can help develop the next generation of staff."
