Fashion students from Northampton College have won four of only seven categories in one of the most prestigious millinery competitions - 2014 Feltmakers' Design Award. Emily Mabbutt, Aleksandra Kukula, Sharon Mensah and Lewis Murphy are students on the full-time Level 3 Fashion & Clothing and part-time evening millinery courses.
They beat off immense international competition with their impressive hat designs from across Britain and Europe, and were up against students and trainees of the highest calibre, most of whom are studying millinery specific courses at university level. Emily won overall second prize with her hat which featured beautiful veiling and stripped quills inspired by ballet costumes and contour fashion.
