Local engineering apprentice, Luke Trethewy is among the UK's most talented apprentices to be celebrated at this year's The Skills Show following his success in the WorldSkills UK Skills Competitions.
Luke is currently completing an Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship in Engineering Machining through Northampton College and works for local engineering firm Ilmor Engineering.
Luke was one of the top six scorers in the first stage of the WorldSkills UK CNC Turning competition and as a result he was invited to compete in the WorldSkills UK Industrial Electronics National Final at the Skills Show in November. After a tense competition final at the Birmingham NEC, Luke picked up the bronze medal in the CNC Turning category.
