There’s no doubt there is a place for life online. Whether it’s a spot of ‘buy it now’ retail therapy or catching up with friends on social – our digital footprint is bigger than ever, but nothing quite beats the feeling of doing it IRL.
The past 18 months has seen us pivot to hosting ‘virtual’ open events on Zoom but, although these were successful and enabled prospective students to get a glimpse of Northampton College during lockdown, we are absolutely delighted to now be reverting to ‘in-person’ open events once again.
These events allow you to open the doors to a new future and see first-hand what college life is all about.
Our open events get underway on October 14 and will run throughout the academic year, so come along to as many as you want, get advice, see our facilities and talk to tutors as well as current students.
It’s free, it’s face-to-face and it’s full of the facts you need to make an informed decision about what’s next for you.
With a wide range of courses available across our three campuses we’re confident we’ll have something that suits you down to the ground, giving you the chance to learn from respected industry professionals who’ve been there, seen it and done it themselves.
Our largest campus is Booth Lane in Northampton, which features a state-of-the-art Digital Academy for anyone interested in coding, graphic design or Esports, our Advanced Construction Engineering Centre, professional performing arts spaces and an open-air amphitheatre.
We also have our own TV and radio studios, engineering workshops and, if you are into cars, we have industry-standard spray paint booths for refinishing.
If hairdressing and beauty therapy is more your bag, then our town centre campus at Lower Mounts is the place to go, while our purpose-built campus in Daventry boasts all the latest technology and equipment you will need to thrive in your studies.
My team and many helpers will be there at all our open events to chat, point you in the right direction and ensure all your questions are answered. You can talk to our tutors along the way and if you know what you want to do, you can make an application on the night.
Our Principal and Deputy Principal will also be on hand, giving a talk in the lecture theatre at every open event to explain all about how further education works and what you can expect – including the offer of a free laptop/Chromebook loan for every student aged 16-18 on a full-time study programme.
We have lots of new courses to choose from for 2022-23 and you can get a flavour of these in our new prospectus – available to view online very soon.
But remember, there is no substitute for seeing this all for yourself at an open event.
Once you’ve found a course or two you are interested in, come along, meet our tutors and talk to students about their experiences. There’s no commitment, it’s simply a chance to see for yourself what we can do for you.
