This mode of study will suit those individuals who mostly enjoy coursework (70%), exams (30%) and project-based work and can work well independently.

What will I study?
The Foundation Diploma is completed within one year, whereas the Extended Diploma is completed over two years. Both are Level 3 qualifications. Progression from the first year to the second year will be dependent on attaining grades above a pass in most units and an ability to study at the required level independently.
The Foundation Diploma is made up of six units and will earn between 24 and 84 UCAS points depending on the grade achieved.
The Extended Diploma is made up of thirteen units and earns between 48 and 168 UCAS points depending on the overall grade achieved.

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for you if you are interested in gaining entry to higher education or for those wishing to gain an industry recognised qualification before going into full time employment and wish to gain a Level 3 qualification in Global Business with Logistics.

How is the course assessed?
A process of continuous assessment involving unit assignments (normally three or four per unit) alongside some external assessments set and marked by Pearson. There are strict deadlines for the completion of these throughout the academic year. Assignments will be assessed both internally and externally in a variety of ways to include presentations; role play; simulations; observations; exams. There is a bias towards written essays, reports and magazine article style submissions.

Your Study Programme
If you are aged 16-18, you will join a Study Programme.
We will make sure you are working at the right level on your core qualification and are challenged to achieve the highest level of qualification you can. Work experience will be part of your study programme and complement your college study and prepare you for employment. You will also get involved in activities to help you develop life skills and to build your confidence so you can make progress in your career. Weekly timetables will include tutorial support which may comprise of full group activities or one to one sessions to discuss individual progress or support needs.

Progression and Career Opportunities
After successful achievement of this course, you can enter employment as this qualification is recognised by employers in industry and particularly in the Logistics area. Many students also apply for courses in Higher Education and certain universities are very keen to offer BTEC students a place on their degree courses with a Merit Grade or above. There may also be the option to take an HNC in Business, Finance & Marketing at Northampton College.
