Set at undergraduate level, our Associate Level qualification will help to develop your ability to evaluate the effectiveness of different People practices and increase the understanding of the external factors that impact upon People activities and organisations, whilst also developing planning, analytical and problem solving skills. It will provide you with the opportunity to build on your expertise in a range of People subjects.

Who is this course for?
The course is aimed at existing HR professionals who are either HR Managers or have several years experience and are looking to move into an HR management role. It may also be suitable for you if you are an experienced manager in another administrative discipline who is looking to broaden their understanding of people related issues.

How is the course assessed?
There are no exams, each unit is assessed by submission a written report or sometimes a combination of presentation and written supporting notes. You will need to pass all assignments to complete your qualification. All units are subject to moderation by the CIPD

General info
As well as having access to the College systems which will have all the course resources, you will have access to the college library facilities and also as a member of CIPD you can access their knowledge Hub. All students are required to join the CIPD as a student member and this fee is not included in your course fees. If you are currently a CIPD member, your current membership level will be applied by the CIPD. CIPD membership will be discussed at the start of the course, so wait until then before joining.

Entry Requirements for new students
You should ideally be working in an HR environment or have relevant managerial experience in another administrative discipline. You may have already achieved the CIPD Foundation Certificate.
This is a Level 5 qualification that will blend independent research and academic study with analysis as well. You will have to be able to bring all that together in written reports to demonstrate the application of the theory to the practice of People Management. Don't worry if you have not studied recently as there is support available to help you. Do think carefully about the time you have available outside college to conduct your own research. The tutor will go through this with you at interview.Interview Requirements:
Prospective students need to speak to the course tutor before being offered a place. You may be asked to submit a short written piece of work to demonstrate your skills.
