This evening based course will provide you with a City and Guilds 3268 Level 2 VRQ in a number of welding processes, each process to be chosen by you, at the outset of the course. The Awards and Certificates could help you develop your welding and fabrication career further and take on jobs that require more specialist skills.

What will I study?
During this course you will be able to:
- Produce welds in either flat/horizontal or vertical
- Work with specified materials, thicknesses and tolerances
- Produce flat plate and cylindrical

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for you if you have achieved a Level 1 Welding qualification, wishing to gain experience of other welding processes.

How is the course assessed?
Completion of a number of weld specimens that satisfy the Awarding Body criteria plus written/verbal assessment.

General info
Although all PPE, general materials and consumables are provided, candidates may wish to provide their own PPE in the form of CE Welding helmet, gloves and goggles.
It should be noted that the course fee, registration and certification fee covers only one welding process. Arrangements can be made for those who successfully complete their first process within the fifteen weeks and wish to pay the fee to enrol for an additional process.

Progression and Career Opportunities
After successful completion of this qualification you can progress on to a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering or a Level 3 Award in Advanced Welding.

Entry Requirements for new students
Candidates must be able to show a Level 1 pass certificate at enrolment for Level 2. All students will be required to be interviewed prior to enrolling onto the course and during your discussion you will agree the best process choice for you with your tutor.
