Level 2 Award in Welding Skills - Metal Inert Gas Welding

During this course you will be able to:

• Produce welds in either flat/horizontal or vertical
• Work with specified materials, thicknesses and tolerances
• Produce flat plate and cylindrical

This course is ideal for you if you have achieved a Level 1 Welding qualification and wish to gain experience of other welding processes.

Completion of a number of weld specimens that satisfy the Awarding Body criteria plus written/verbal assessment.

Although some PPE, general materials and consumables are provided, candidates may wish to provide their own PPE in the form of CE Welding helmet, gloves and goggles.

It should be noted that the course fee, registration and certification fee covers only one of the welding process. Arrangements can be made for those who successfully complete their first process within the nine weeks and wish to pay the fee to enrol for an additional process.

After successful completion of this qualification you can progress on to a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering or a Level 3 Award in Advanced Welding.

The Awards and Certificates within this suite of qualifications could help you develop a career in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering sector. They could lead to a number of job roles including:

You must show your Level 1 pass certificate at enrolment. All students will be required to be interviewed prior to enrolling onto the course and during your discussion you will agree the best process choice for you with your tutor.
