You will study English vocabulary and language at Level 1 (intermediate level). You will practise the production of more natural speech by concentrating on pronunciation, word and sentence stress, grammar and language you can use in a variety of formal and informal situations. You will build on existing knowledge by improving fluency, accuracy and range of language.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at people whose first language is not English and who have an intermediate level of English skills in speaking and listening.

The course is assessed via formal examination at the end of the course.

There are no specific materials needed for the course but please bring pens, paper and a folder to organise your work to every lesson. You might find an English monolingual or a bi-lingual dictionary useful.

Entry Requirements for new students
All new students must attend an ESOL Initial Assessment and be assessed as working towards Level 1.
You must attend an ESOL Initial Assessment which could take up to ninety minutes.
