In this course you will improve your literacy skills in English. You will concentrate on the skill of writing but will also practise speaking and listening and reading.
You will study English vocabulary and language at Entry 3 (pre-intermediate) level. You will learn about the language used in different types of text. In particular, you will work on spelling, grammar, punctuation and writing simple sentences using Entry Level 3 grammar. You will start to use longer, more complex sentences in your own writing. You will start to write different kinds of texts eg articles, blogs, emails.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at people whose first language is not English and who have a pre-intermediate level of English skills in writing.

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed via formal examination at the end of the course.

General info
There are no specific materials needed for the course but please bring pens, paper and a folder to organise your work to every lesson. You might find an English monolingual or a bi-lingual dictionary useful.

Entry Requirements for new students
All new students must attend an ESOL Initial Assessment and be assessed as working towards Entry Level 3. The assessment can take up to ninety minutes.
