In this course you will improve your literacy skills in English. You will work on increasing your vocabulary and improving your ability to read and understand a variety of different texts in English that you see in everyday life. In addition, you will start to write your own texts using the vocabulary and language learnt in the lessons.
You will study English vocabulary and language at Entry 2 (elementary) level. You will learn about the language used in different types of printed and online text and you will start to use the language in your own writing and speaking.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at people whose first language is not English and who have an elementary level of English skills in reading.

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed via formal examination at the end of the course.

General info
There are no specific materials needed for the course but please bring pens, paper and a folder to organise your work to every lesson. You might find an English monolingual or a bi-lingual dictionary useful.

Entry Requirements for new students
All new students must attend an ESOL Initial Assessment and be assessed as working towards Entry Level 2.
You must attend an ESOL Initial Assessment which could take up to ninety minutes.
