Level 2 Award in Digital Skills

This is a 2 unit qualification studying Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys studying independently with tutor support and who wishes to develop their knowledge in Word and Excel ready for the workplace.

The course is portfolio assessed with an assessment to be taken at the end of each unit.

Study of a Microsoft Word unit and a Microsoft Excel unit with an assessment at the end of each unit.

• IT and digital skills to enable the use of a range of different software applications to create and edit documents and effectively complete tasks.
• How to maximise the tools in word processing software to prepare, process and produce a range of professional documents accurately and efficiently.
• To develop an understanding of spreadsheet software tools and techniques to produce a spreadsheet.

• Use word processing software and advanced tools and techniques to enable creation of specific documents, to modify and enhance document presentation.
• Use spreadsheet software tools and techniques to produce spreadsheets and apply advanced formulae and functions to process numerical data.
• use automated tools to aid productivity.

• Develop Behaviours that are essential in the workplace, reliability, managing of time, working independently, respect and communication.
• Encourage progression by assisting in the development of knowledge and skills that learners will need to undertake further study.

After successful completion of this course progression is available in other Microsoft Office-based short courses. After you finish your Level 2 Digital Skills course we will ask you about what other digital skills you would like to learn. We will then be able to make suggestions that support you towards your work or life aspirations.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate literacy skills, and basic IT skills Candidates will need to attend their assessment to establish course suitability.
