This course covers a wide range of advanced beauty therapy treatments. This is an essential course for anyone wishing to work as a professional therapist. It is a fast-moving intensive course that requires commitment and dedication. The method of learning is by a mixture of both practical and theory sessions.

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for you if you have an existing Level 2 Beauty therapy qualification and wish to gain a Level 3 qualifiction in beauty therapy.

How is the course assessed?
The practical work will be assessed by formative assessments and then a final end of course synoptic exam covering a range of treatments which will be graded.
Theory work is assessed using written external tests and some assignment work.
Personal appearance is part of the awarding body's criteria. You will be expected to adhere to a strict dress code: no jewellery, long hair tied back, short un-varnished nails and a specified uniform to be worn.

Your Study Programme
If you are aged 16-18, you will join a Study Programme this could be a vocational or technical qualification. We will make sure you are working at the right level on your core qualification and are challenged to achieve the highest level of qualification you can.
Work experience will be part of your study programme and complement your college study and prepare you for employment. You will also get involved in activities to help you develop life skills and to build your confidence so you can make progress in your career.
If you have chosen to study for a T Level qualification, this will involve college-based theory and practice lessons along with relevant work placement to enable you to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours that employers are looking for.
Weekly timetables will include tutorial support which may comprise of full group activities or one to one sessions to discuss individual progress or support needs.
All students will continue to improve their maths and English and if you don't have a grade 4 (C) at GCSE, we will work with you towards achieving that goal (subject to specific entry requirements for particular courses).

You will be required to purchase kit and uniform - costs approximately £75.00
Students from low income households will be able to apply to the Bursary fund for assistance with the costs of equipment and uniform.

Progression and Career Opportunities
Employment opportunities include working within department stores, becoming a representative for a specialist skin care company, salon work, becoming a salon owner, a freelance therapist, working on a cruise liner or health spa.
Students studying this qualification also gain UCAS points allowing them to progress onto University level qualifications.
