Students are required to attend all classes.
You will study:
- Swedish Body Massage techniques, including relevant anatomy and physiology
- Health and Safety Procedures
- Appropriate Legislation
During your time at College the emphasis will be placed on practical aspects of the course. You also need time to study, to practise at home and set time aside for revision for exams, assignments and homework. Please be aware that you will be expected to set aside a minimum of three hours per week to study and practise at home.
Initially, students will work on each other. They will be assessed on external clients who will pay for their treatment. Students should be prepared to allow other students to practise on them. Please note that should you provide a client for a practical assessment a £1 registration fee is required, plus the cost of the treatment. In line with Northampton College's policy on Equal Opportunities, classes and the client base may be of mixed gender.
Please also note Provide Body Massage and Health and Safety are separate units. Health and Safety will be covered in its entirety before moving onto the massage unit.
