We live in an increasingly connected world, where technology is allowing us to be ever smarter in the way we go about our days. From voice-controlled smart plugs which turn our lights on and boil the kettle as we get out of bed in the morning, to live-streamed gaming tournaments with friends from around the world in the evening - our world is dominated, and enriched, by digital devices.
We're back!
Finally, after what has seemed the longest, harshest, toughest winter in living memory, we are returning to campus. Face-to-face teaching, chatting with friends, catching up with classmates – all of the things we previously took for granted are back on the agenda – and never have we appreciated them more.
I'm extremely proud to have been shortlisted as a #constructionrolemodel as part of UK Construction Week. It's an industry I love so to have the opportunity to promote it to the next generation of workers is a real privilege.

While COVID jabs have administered vital injections of the vaccine, the Government's roadmap out of lockdown has provided a much-needed dose of optimism. We now know where we stand, we know where we're headed and we know how and when we're getting there.

But one aspect of home schooling that is often overlooked is the potential impact it can have on eye health. With many lessons now taking place online, those hours spent on Zoom or Microsoft Teams calls are racking up, with screentime on digital devices going through the roof.
