"I came to college once it dawned on me that studying for my A Levels in physics, history and product design at school just wasn’t for me. I found there was too much written work and it felt like ‘School 2.0’ – that wasn’t my future, I wanted something different.
Engineering was a good option and the college was the perfect location. I came along to an open event on the Saturday and started on the Monday, it was that quick, there was no mucking about. There has always been a snobbish attitude that college kids are the dumb ones but that’s simply not true. The opportunities here at college are so much better than the sixth form. You have the chance to work in purpose-built facilities with the very latest equipment and learn from teachers who have relevant, real-world experience."
