“Changing careers to get into hairdressing is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I was working for the police, planning duties for firearms officers, but was signed off sick with anxiety and depression. I realised I needed to be doing something around people where I could make them happy.
“I’ve learnt so much and my teachers have been a massive help. I’m dyslexic as well but they broke everything down for me and let me go at my own pace. I got my maths GCSE and the team at Paul Watts in Kettering have allowed me to be creative and pushed me to see what I can do. I’d like to widen my knowledge further and learn more about bridal hair, barbering and hair extensions. Longer term, I’d love to own a salon one day – that would be the dream.”
